As mentioned before, we’ve performed at The Orangery Maidstone a few times over the years and have always enjoyed our time there. This was no exception. The staff were all very friendly and super relaxed! The venue is well located with beautiful grounds and well laid out inside. Its one of those venues we’d be happy to play every week! Hopefully we’ll be back there again soon!

Orangery Maidstone Wedding
On 30th March, The RockPins were in action again at the lovely Orangery wedding venue in Maidstone, Kent. This was familiar ground for us having played there many times before. This time for Rob and Sara Ferguson’s wedding. We haven’t been there for a while, but it was good to be back.
The weather was pretty bad, but that didn’t dampen the atmosphere at the wedding. It was awesome! After the wedding breakfast and speeches had finished, we set up and sound checked within an hour and then were ready to go. There were 2 dances; first dance and father of the bride / daughter dance. Both of these were recorded versions of the original. (We do often perform the first dance). We followed this up with our first set.

Live Music & Disco
Shortly after the first set, the wedding party went outside during a dry spell for fireworks. When they came back in, the buffet was out.
We played 2 further live sets with disco in the breaks (playing the couples choice of music discussed prior to the wedding).
New member of The RockPins!
Rob – The Groom came up to us while we were setting up and told us that he used to play in a band. So we got him up in the second set to play lead guitar on Chuck Berry’s – Johnny B Goode. The crowd went wild! It was a lot of fun. He did very well considering he’d had a few!
All in all, it was a great night!
