The RockPins are a professional live music band; formed more than a decade ago by Matt Ropkins. We have played at over 750 weddings / corporate events and private functions and at more than 300 wedding venues. We have built up excellent relationships with venues, with most of our work coming from client / venue recommendations. 

We use high end sound and lighting equipment for the very best audio experience. (This does not mean we want to 'turn up to 10' just because we can! We have no desire to deafen our clients and their guests! We can even use an electric drum kit where sensitive sound limiters are present).

We also have some of the very best feedback you'll find online, which we are very proud of.

We have also won a number of awards over the the years including being a finalist in the 2025 Kent Wedding Awards (which we have won on 2 previous occasions). Please see our client Feedback page for more information.

We provide a friendly and professional service and enjoy our work immensley.

NB: There are thousands of bands out there, with many being cheaper than The RockPins. But there is a reason; Most bands out there are hobbyists playing with their mates using very low end equipment, happy to play for a pint and some petrol money. We're professional musicians making a living from what we do best. You might strike it lucky, but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

6th June 2025 - Alex & Emma - Wedding - Penshurst Place (Google Review) - 'What an amazing band! My wife and I booked The RockPins for our wedding at Penshurst Place on June 6th and could not be more happy with how amazing they were on the night. Of all the incredible parts of the day, Matt, Nick and JM really stole the show, and we haven’t stopped getting compliments for how incredible they were and how well they kept the room bouncing!

The band were also a delight to work with throughout the process of planning our wedding - including being very accommodating to the awkward timing requirements of our venue! - so we really cannot recommend them enough.

If you are at all unsure about how great they are, I’d recommend heading to one of their live gigs in Bromley. We went to see them play a few months before our big day having already booked them, and were so thoroughly impressed by how well they nailed every song they played that they had us second-guessing half our set list!

24th May 2025 - Terry & Sarah - Wedding - Club Langley - (Google Review) - 'We hired the 4 piece band for our wedding last month and they were AMAZING! In the run up to the wedding they were really helpful, quick to respond (which all brides need!) flexible and happy to take song requests. On the day timings didn’t quite go to plan but this was no trouble for the band, they slotted in where it worked to do their sound check - which got everyone excited!

The extra band members meant that we had a saxophone and this was brilliant. From the variety of songs, talent of the band members, friendliness you will not be disappointed if you book this band. We can highly recommend. Book, book, book.

The RockPins provide 3 x 40 or 2 x 60 minute sets of great live music along with a first class 'DJ' service throughout all the breaks, along with band and dance floor lighting, for a complete nights' entertainment for you and your guests.

90% of our clients book the 3 piece line-up. But we are also available as a 4 piece (extra guitarist / saxophonist with vocals - See our Videos page) and also as a duo; either acoustic or with a full band sound using a fantastic programmed drum machine.

We can even learn and perform your first dance for a small fee if required. (Why not have a listen to  our own love song; 'Heartbeat' our most popular first dance choice with our clients.

We hold £5millon Public Liability and all our equipment is PAT tested. 

Typical evening: The RockPins arrive at 6pm, set up / sound check by 7.30pm. Then non-stop music from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. (Timings can be adjusted to suit your requirements). We provide 3 x 40 or 2 x 60 minute sets of live music with disco in all the breaks (You can make your own playlists for the disco if you want!) We provide all sound and lighting equipment. All we need is power!

Good question! Some bands just play far too loud!! Then they wonder why everyone walks out of the room when they start playing! (This is usually this is a sign of not just being too loud, but also using naff equipment and inexperieinced musicians). We're not that band! We don't want to deafen anyone and we want our clients and their guests to be comfortable on the dancefloor and also being able to speak when sat down in the same room as us! Yes, it it is a live band, but we always check with the venue to ensure they are happy with the levels, and if the client is in the room during the sounf check, we will ask them too. Our drummer will use softer drums sticks (hot rods) in small venues and also has an excellent electric drum kit for venues that require this. 

From our experience, its not just bands that often play far too loud, we've seen DJ's play far too loud and watched the room empty after we've finished a set. They seem absolutely oblivious to it! 

Having said all that, we do like to rock out, so if the venue has the room and the client wants it, we can turn up the volume. We have excellent PA which is normally just ticking over at most venues.
