THE ROCKPINS
So last Saturday 21st May we had the absolute delight of playing at Caryn and Malcolm’s wedding reception at Knowle Country House in Kent. This wedding had to be moved twice since we took the booking in May 2019, but it was well worth the wait! What a truly fantastic evening!
This was only our second time playing at Knowle Country House and we couldn’t have had a better experience, honestly! The staff were amazing! I rang in the morning just to check a couple of things regarding set up. Very bubbly helpful lady on the phone – great!
Then on arrival the resident DJ couldn’t have been more helpful. He would have moved his whole set up into the conservatory for us if we’d wanted (big job). But he stayed put and we set up in front of him and there was plenty of room.
So what to say about the venue itself: Lovely! Wedding breakfast in one room, a beautiful brand new conservatory with a bar, dance room, and another bar and a cabin for chilling out. It also has accommodation (which we didn’t see). And the grounds are beautiful too. Have a look at the photos in this blog.
Next up was the food. Honestly one of the best buffets we’ve had. A fantastic curry which was kept hot and a selection of all sorts of other things including Matt’s favorite; king prawns!
The staff: Very welcoming and helpful. And the manager did something very rare amongst venues….. he offered us a drink! We all just had a pint of coke (keeping it professional of course!) It truly makes all the difference and was appreciated. And at the end of the night, one of the staff came up and offered us some doughnuts. She then went and wrapped them in tinfoil for us to take home, marvelous! We highly recommend this venue, we loved it! Here's a link to their website:

There’s nothing better than an appreciative audience! And we had one from the 1st to the last dance. Can’t ask for more than that. However good or bad we’re playing, most of our joy comes from the audience. So it was a good night, a really good night.
The DJ was a really nice guy called Damien from Soundwaves Disco; friendly and helpful from the start, all the way through to the end. He was using a decent system (Bose) and knew what he was doing (on the mic / volumes / song choices). We were very impressed. Its quite rare that we meet DJ’s as we usually provide live and disco. But he was by far the best we’ve come across. Highly recommend him!
